First post, minor housekeeping issues..

The Leanansidhe.. or, if one were to be more accurate, leanan sídhe.. is a member of the Aos Sí, or faery folk. Her name is a combination of sídhe, roughly translated as 'of the faery mounds,' and leannan, the Gaelic word for..

wait for it..

concubine.

(or, alternately, favorite)

:: giggle ::

Historically, Lea is drawn to mortal lovers.. she offers inspiration, fame, and glory in exchange for the fulfillment of her needs. This typically ends.. poorly.. for the mortal. However, as with all faery tales, there is a twist. Should the mortal accept her offer, they belong to her and are consigned to a brief- but pleasurable- life, unless they find someone to take their place.

If they refuse, she must be their slave.

Oh, how I understand this. How often have I known the desperate ache of wanting what cannot be had. Of being refused, and having that refusal not dissuade me, but instead bind me even closer to the object of my desire.

Of being overcome with the need to exist solely for the pleasure of another.

The Leanansidhe is a powerful, inspirational, terrifying creature. But at the end of the day, she is just as human as the rest of us. And those who bind the muse to their will experience the heights of exhilaration, the greatest of inspiration.

This blog is being created on the order of the gentleman who is but the latest to have ensnared me. The contents will change at his whim, not mine, as he gives me tasks to complete. I hope that throughout this endeavor I please him in both word and action, and prove to be the muse he desires.
